Multimedia 113 is the introductory course in the Multimedia Program and a requirement for all multimedia majors and minors and Art majors. The class is delivered in a lecture and lab format. In lecture, students learn about the history, development and real-world applications of topics ranging from interactive and narrative theory, digital photography to time based design. Special guest lectures by local multimedia professionals help keep the discussions timely. In lab, the students receive hands-on instruction and software specific assignments dealing in digital photography, compositing, sound design, video, web design, animation and project management. Each assignment builds upon the previous and the course ends with the production of a comprehensive interactive website.
